ORSA u17 won away at Clarion 6-2. The game was troubled by high wind, which was difficult to deal with at times. Clarion's young team lead 1-0 at the half after an evenly fought contest with Wolfe and Pifer going close. The second half was dominated by the wind assisted ORSA and Max Lane capitalized with 5 goals. Bailey Pifer nudged in the other from close rangeto net her 2nd ever goal for the club. The Oil Region defense was very solid, with good performances all round and Chris Morgan outstanding. Zach Stryffeler marked his ORSA debut with a solid performance in goal making several solid saves. Brandon Swartz was creative and thoughtful in midfield while Micaela Zdarko in midfield and defense gave her best ever showing for ORSA.
A good overall effort with everyone having plenty of opportunity and a good time. It is impossible not to name Max Lane as player of the game for his calmness and finishing for his goals, but the entire team put in a lot of effort and hustle earning a good result to start the season.
