ORSA U10 - Ritchey lost a hard fought contest 1-3
versus Kinzua-Darling. Kinzua scored early on a corner kick put across the
goal mouth and put in at the far post. Being down 1-0 it looked to be a
desperate time for ORSA early, but Carson Whitling subsituted in at striker
created a chance at goal by stealing the ball and he made the most of it by
putting the ball into the net and scoring to tie the game with his first goal of
the season. Once again Dustin McMullen kept the game tied with several
saves including one save on a penalty kick that he managed to deflect just
enough to put it off the cross bar. At the start of the second half ORSA's
defense was again under seige but managed to stay even until yet another corner
kick. Kinzua again put the ball across the mouth of goal which deflected
off the keeper and was tapped home. Kinzua now up 2-1 continued to keep up
the offensive pressure and put in an insurance goal to make the score 3-1.
Riley Reed in at striker looked to have a clear opportunity at a goal scoring
chance, but the defender did just enough to deflect the ball out of
bounds. ORSA - Ritchey ran out of time and chances and recorded their
first loss of the season. |
