U10 ORSA - Ritchey defeated Mercer - Bailey 3-1 on a fantastic day in western PA. Keegan Shreffler had a nice cross in the early moments of the game that didn't go for a goal, but was great to see the players starting to go to space and then receive a pass for going there. Quinn Ritchey opened up the scoring by scoring back to back goals to give ORSA a 2-0 lead. Caleb Prettyman missed an great opportunity at adding another on a pass from Quinn who was creative throughout the game dribbling around defenders and also picking out teammates with long passes. Mercer scored their lone goal in the second half as ORSA's defense got turned around and left their keeper in a one on one and he was unable to keep out the shot. With the score now 2-1 keeper Aiden Kightlinger had to make a couple really good saves to keep ORSA in the lead. Several of ORSA's players had opportunities at goals, but it wasn't until late in the second half that Caleb Prettyman broke through the defense and was stopped by the keeper once but got the rebound and pounded it home to make the game 3-1. Prettyman had attacked relentlessly thoughout the game and wasn't able to put it all together until that final goal. It was good to see his effort get rewarded. All the players played great, but Caleb Griffin and Keegan Shreffler played their best games to date. Both saw time at striker and defensive back and were equal to the task. U10 ORSA Ritchey wraps up their season at Meadville next weekend.
