ORSA Ritchey at Clarion-Green - 09/21/14

ORSA U10-Ritchey lost to Clarion U10-Green 5-0 putting their record at 1-2.  The game was played in just about every weather condition but snow in the first half, as a brief bit of sunshine at the start quickly changed to driving rain.  Thanks goes out to the Griffins for setting up a canopy over the bench despite the coaches saying it wasn't necessary.  They were wrong and it kept the coaches and the few players on the bench dry during the monsoon.  The weather seemed to affect the ORSA players as they gave up 4 first half goals.  The second half produced a much better team effort and it was needed as Clarion continued to press the attack.  Sawyer Cavalline made several saves as keeper and Landon Perry made several clearances including a great header on a Clarion cross into the box.  Seldon Bean, Caleb Griffin, and Keegan Shreffler were solid once again with Keegan and Seldon flowing to the ball defensively to break up the Clarion attacks and Griff along with Carson Whitling and Jay Prettyman trying to press the counter-attack when they had the opportunity.  RaeLynn Montgomery also assisted by falling back to help defensively from her forward spot and Connor Ritchey and Kaden Henderson also helped by breaking up plays on defense.  ORSA U10 Ritchey plays away next week at Mercer.
